The Department of Music at City University London is internationally renowned as a centre of research and teaching excellence in composition (acoustic and electroacoustic), musicology, ethnomusicology, performance, and music technology, receiving the highest possible rating in the UK Research Assessment Exercise 2001 (5*).

The Overseas Scholarships in Music: 4 awards; £4,000 each.

These scholarships are open to full-time overseas research students (UK/EU students are ineligible) who begin an MPhil-PhD in Music.

The Wadsworth African Fellowship: The Wadsworth African Fellowships are intended to provide support for African students undertaking study leading to a Ph.D. at a South African university that can provide them with international-level training in anthropology (including biological anthropology and archaeology).

Currently applications to the University of Witwatersrand or The University of Cape Town are given priority.

The annual fellowship of $17,500 and can be used towards travel, living expenses, tuition, student fees, insurance, books, research expenses, and any other relevant categories of expenditure while studying at the Host institution.

  • International Postgraduate Research scholarships at Edith Cowan University are restricted only to those applicants wishing to commencing their studies in either a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master by Research.

    The ECU-IPRS scheme is both prestigious and highly competitive. Four ECU-IPRS scholarships are offered each year for tenure at Edith Cowan University. The scholarships provide the recipient with tuition fee and health care cover for the duration of their research degree. In addition, each successful ECU-IPRS recipient will be offered an ECU International Stipend (ECUIS) to meet living costs for the same period.
