Applications are invited from UK, EU and International candidates for the three-year full-time PhD programme commencing in September 2009.

The Studentships
The studentships will be for a maximum period of three years, and will cover home rate tuition fee and a maintenance allowance of approximately £13,000 per year. Please note: if an international student is successful, they will be required to pay the difference between the Home and overseas tuition fees.

Research themes
The priority research themes for this year’s competition are:

  • Culture, Identity and Change
  • Sustainable Societies

To be eligible for the competition, your research proposal must be strongly connected to one of these themes.
