The scholarships are offered in collaboration with Schlumberger Cambridge Research Limited and are intended for students from developing countries who are pursuing courses of research leading to the degree of PhD at University of Cambridge.

The Department of Engineering, Natural Sciences and Medicine is pleased to announce the Imperial College Student Opportunities Fund for the 2010/11 session. There is no separate application form for this scholarship. We will use your application to College to shortlist candidates and then pass this information on to Student Opportunities Fund Selection Committee for the final decision.

The University of Southampton has a wide range of scholarships available to aid your studies.

Most scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and all are competitive. In order to be successful you should investigate all scholarships open to you and put in a strong application for each.

Fifteen ESRs will be recruited across the Network. Each will be expected to complete a doctorate on one of the three working groups’ topics. Early Stage Researchers should be in the first 4 years of their career (experience is counted at date of appointment) and have not yet obtained a PhD. The ESR must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the host country for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment.

The network programme is taught in English and is open to students from all countries with a Master’s degree in social sciences.
