PhD Research Fellow in Functional Inorganic Materials – (ref. no. 2011/3785)
A PhD Research Fellow is available at the Department of Chemistry, University of Oslo (http://www.kjemi.uio.no/), within the Functional Inorganic Materials research group under the supervision of Professor Serena Margadonna.
The fellowship is for a period of up to 4 years with 25 % compulsory work and is available from June 1, 2011. Starting date no later than October 1, 2011. The position is affiliated with the top-tier effort NAFUMA in the research group of Functional Inorganic Materials. NAFUMA is an integrated part of the Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology, and of the inGAP centre for research based innovation within catalysis and natural gas conversion. NAFUMA takes part in the national FME center on solar cell technology, and coordinates and holds many grants from the European Commission and the Research Council of Norway. The research environment is highly international, with adjunct professors, researchers, post docs and students of some 15 nationalities.

The Oslo School of Architecture and Design calls for applications to the open, full-time position as PhD research fellow for a three year period (1 August 2011 to 30 July 2014). The research fellow will be part of a large research project called Scarcity and Creativity in the Built Environment (SCIBE) funded by the European Union, HERA Program.The PhD position is based either at the Institute of Architecture or at the Institute of Urbanism and Landscape and requires full time residence throughout the three year period, including participation in the research education programme.
Applicants must hold a master’s degree or equivalent in a field of relevance to the SCIBE project. Preference will be given to applicants that:

The Department of Arctic Geophysics of the University Centre in Svalbard have vacancies for two PhD position for four years each within the Space Physics group focusing on optics of air glow and aurora, respectively. UNIS provides education and carries out scientific research based in Svalbard within the high Arctic, and benefits greatly from this geographical location. Approximately half of the staff and students are from abroad, and all teaching is in English. UNIS is located in a new building in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, withvery good access to modern laboratories and equipment. UNIS is a state owned.

Scholarship funds amount to NOK 1.000.000, – (approx. Euro 125.000,-/US Dollars 150.000,-) will be awarded to Ibsen-related projects worldwide.
The International Ibsen Scholarships were initiated by the Norwegian government and will be awarded for the third time in 2010. We solicit relevant applications, from projects throughout the world.
The scholarships are meant to act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen, and are applicable to individuals, organizations and institutions within the artistic and cultural communities. The applications are subject to scrutiny by an appointed jury.
Previous years, projects from Asia, North-America, Europe, Africa and Australia have received scholarships.
